Trip Detail Itinerary

After airport pickup and transfer to the hotel, we will go to the cozy hotel at Boudha enlightenment stupa. Here we can stroll through the streets with numerous monasteries and shops, feel the atmosphere of Nepal and Tibet at the same time and drop by local lamas and doctors.

A busy day awaits us in the morning. Today we will explore the major attractions of Kathmandu valley: Basantapur, Asan, Swayambu and Pashupati.

Basantapur: In Basantapur we will visit the royal square with palace and see the living goddess Kumari. See the traditional Nevar architecture with the ancient temple of Kastamandap from where the city originated.

Asan: Asan is an ancient marketplace at the crossroads of trade routes, where trade is still brisk. Within walking distance here is the Annapurna temple of wealth with a silver vase from the Naga kingdom and the temple of one of the brothers of Avalokiteshwar, the Buddha of great compassion. These temples are imbued with the blessings of the living tradition of Nevara Buddhism and are very significant in the history of the valley. The temple of White Machendranath (Protector of Peace) houses an ancient statue of one of the five Avalokiteshwar brothers, blessed by Guru Rinpoche himself. To visit it is a very significant event, as among the five, only three statues remain in Nepal (one is owned by the Dalai Lama and one is in Lhasa). It is very difficult to list all the temples that are near Arya Jamali, but karmic connection will surely lead us to the right one.

Swayambhu: At Swayambu, we will walk the steps of the ancient shrine and learn the story of Nepal’s creation through local legend while watching the monkey life and panoramic views of the city.

Pashupati: One of Nepal’s largest and oldest temple complexes is also an open-air crematorium, a sacred place of Shiva and the Bagmati River that transports the souls of the dead to the divine worlds. It is a place of contrasts, ceremonies and unforgettable experiences.

Today we will travel to one of Nepal’s most sacred sites, Parping. This is where the great tantric master of Tibetan Buddhism, Guru Rinpoche, achieved enlightenment. Small peaceful settlements in the middle of picturesque hills have given shelter to numerous Tibetan monasteries built relatively recently. At the Nevara temple of Nepal’s main goddess Vajrayogini, we will perform a ritual to attract good luck and fulfill good fortune, pray for ourselves, loved ones and the world. Then we will ascend to the observation deck above the Asura Cave, where we will enjoy an inexpressible view of the surrounding hills and make a sanga offering in a huge stove, where numerous yogis and lamas of Tibet and the Himalayas usually conduct pujas. Purified by the sacred smoke and inspired to spiritual feats, we will descend into the Asura Cave itself, where we will learn the amazing story of Guru Rinpoche. We will understand why his teachings are so relevant in our time, how we can apply them to our lives and how they relate to quantum reality. On the descent, we can soak up beauty and feminine energy at the Tara stupas at the Benchen and Sakya monasteries. After a wholesome lunch of local organic produce, we will continue our exploration of Dollu. This is where the Shakti Women’s Cave is located, where Guru Rinpoche’s wife Yeshe Tsogyal practiced. It is a unique place where you can do meditation in darkness and silence. This experience of total immersion is very powerful, even if it only lasts a few minutes. We will also learn the story of Yeshe Tsogyal, which is as unique as Guru Rinpoche’s biography. On the way, we will visit the statue of Big Guru Rinpoche and learn about the traditional three-year hermitage, where not only monks but also lay people can go. On the way back, we will stop by the lavishly decorated Tibetan monasteries of the Nyingma Adzom and Ripa schools, get a closer look at the pantheon of Buddhist deities and learn how to apply a philosophy with a two-thousand-year history to everyday life. After lunch we can get a consultation with a Tibetan doctor, sign up for a relaxing Tibetan massage and just relax after an experience-packed day.

Early morning we will begin our ascent from Dollu through the hills to the picturesquely located Hatiban Resort to greet the dawn with a view of the peaks of the Himalayas. After practicing breathing together, we can enjoy the panorama with a cup of local tea or coffee, feeling truly calm and slowing down. From here we will start our short trek through green hills overlooking the Himalayan mountain ranges called Champadevi. The highest point of the trek reaches 2285 meters above sea level and in good weather gives an unforgettable view of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu and Langtang. On the way back we will visit Dudjom Retreat Center, where retreats and retreats in the tradition of Tibetan yogis take place. Also, if there is time left, we will stop by the secret cave of Yeshe Tsogyal. The afternoon is free to rest, practice, and take Tibetan healing treatments.

After breakfast we will head to Nepal’s famous temple where mass animal sacrifices are usually held in honor of the goddess Kali – Dakshinkali. There we will get acquainted with the local temple architecture in Nevar style, learn more about the customs and beliefs of the local people, which have been preserved for two thousand years, and enjoy a great view of the surrounding hills. Afterwards we will be transferred higher up the mountain to a Tamang village. There we will get acquainted with the life and culture of this warlike and enterprising people, and most importantly, taste their cuisine. The time flies by here cheerfully and unnoticed. And it is already necessary to return back to Dolla.
After lunch we can leisurely go to the place Yanglesho with a pond of nagas and the monastery of Chatral Rinpoche, a Tibetan lama-vegetarian who lived more than a hundred years. Further there is an opportunity to visit a unique temple of a hundred deities of mandala, which opens before us after death – shitro. There is such a temple only in Tibet. One can walk from the temple to the old Nevar quarter of Parping and return to Dolla. Those who wish can continue with treatments and procedures with a Tibetan doctor.

In the morning we move to one of the holiest places in Nepal, Namobuddha. On the way we will visit the famous kingdom of Patan, an open air museum. Numerous temples, artisans, narrow streets, Nevar cuisine and architecture, all this is better to see once. Here you can not just see, but personally get to meet the living goddess of Patan, Kumari. Next, a scenic drive to Namobudha.

One Of the three main stupas of Nepal, Namo Buddha is the most touching place. Here Buddha being a bodhisattva in his previous incarnation offered his body to a hungry tigress who had just given birth to tiger cubs. Without despair and fear, he lovingly and carefully fed his blood and flesh to the tigress, and thanks to the great compassion generated at that moment, he was able to become a buddha. The place is quiet and peaceful, with a large beautiful monastery by Trangu Rinpoche, who himself was as strong as the Buddha in the power of his compassion. It is a great place for walking, light trekking, meditation and any other formative activity. Be sure to dedicate the merits of it to your loved ones and all sentient beings.

After familiarizing ourselves with the history of the place and visiting the temple with numerous Buddha rooms, we will proceed to Bhaktapur, another kingdom of Kathmandu Valley. The former scope and grandeur of the Malla kings’ ideas, the concentration of temples and festivals per square meter, the local color and the fine work of craftsmen are especially felt here. As we stroll leisurely through the streets of the old town, we will learn about the millennia-old history of pottery, paper making, wood carving and other crafts.

We fly out of the capital of Nepal, full of resource, blessings and impressions. One always wants to return to Nepal and more than once.
